I am a Man Utd fan and there is nothing in this world that gives me more joy than seeing my club do well. Those of you who know the club will know that we have a huge history and are considered one of the best in the world.
We are known as the European giants from England and we have earned a great deal of respect all around the world.
But ever since the gaffer, Sir Alex, retired from management, we’ve had a rough road. Managers came and left, players joined and left, but no one could get the team where it belonged. People argue that it’s not always the manager’s fault but the players are equally responsible. This is another debatable topic, so let’s leave it for later.
We also had the ‘Special One’ Jose Mourinho who gave us some hope when we stood 2nd in the league last season. But things didn’t work out for us this season as we struggle to beat the minnows. Evidently, he was sacked mid-season.
After a lot of speculations and rumours, we got our homegrown legend, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to take the driver’s seat. The entire fanbase all across the world was stocked to see this change and it wasn’t too late when the Stretford end started singing his name.
What a turnaround it has been since the blue-eyed babyface assassin took control of the club. 11 points behind the top six positions and now fighting our battles to earn the top 3 spot. Undefeated run of 9 games with more goals scored within 2 months than in 6 years combined. The players started playing in the best of their quality and the saying “form is temporary, class is permanent” came true for us.
We competed with the top teams in the world in different competitions, gained back the trust of our fans and silenced the haters.
We might have won the small battles but the war is still not over. Nothing is certain until the last game of the season. But, with consistency and hard work we are capable of going all the way in spite of the fact that the road ahead is full of hurdles.
No matter what, my love for Man Utd and football will never fade away. #GGMU
